How do we achieve Certified Carbon Neutral?
Using the Life-Cycle Analysis approach during the manufacturing of the NeoFlex Certified Carbon Neutral range of safety gloves, all activities from raw material extraction to goods leaving the gate were assessed to derive the total carbon footprint of producing this range of gloves. The emissions absorbed by the trees in our reforestation project is then quantified, validated and verified through ISO 14064-2. These verified emission removal units are called “carbon insets”. These carbon inset units are then set off against the emissions released during glove production, effectively negating the impact on the atmosphere.
These gloves are then certified Carbon-Inset, which means emissions are negated within the value chain of business operations – as opposed to the normal practice of paying another company to offset emissions. As a result of the progressive changes a company has to make in order to obtain carbon insets, Carbon Insetting has a greater impact on combating climate change and a more direct positive impact on all stakeholders of a business, since it profoundly influences the working value chain of a business than the more traditional Carbon Offsetting.
